From concept to completion in just two weeks as part of COHORT NYC’s St. Louis Film Lab, One Move at a Time was developed within the genre of historical revisionism and the prompt: create a world that does not exist, but one you would want to see. The film went on to become an official selection of both Q-Fest and the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase.

Shannon Laine
Shannon Laine is a St. Louis-based actor, writer, filmmaker, and industry leader whose work moves between performance, storytelling, and building opportunity for others.
After years working in front of the camera, Shannon began expanding behind it, producing independent films, developing original stories, and founding Skopos Films. That evolution grew from a desire not only to pursue meaningful creative work, but to help create more of it in the Midwest.
Whether performing a role, developing a film, or bringing people together around a shared goal, the through-line is the same: tell meaningful stories, create opportunity, and leave the community stronger than she found it.
